Very short, just up to 1 m tall shrub. Tiny white flowers bloom from June to August. It requires full sun and well-drained sandy or rocky soil and is drought tolerant once established.
Attracts many pollinators with its nectar and pollen including hummingbirds. Larval host plant to the Spring Azure butterfly.
