Black-eyed Susan is between 30 - 90 cm. The yellow daisy like flowers bloom from June to October with long season interest.
Larval host plant for the silvery checkerspot butterfly and many moths, pollen host plant for Andrena rudbeckiae, specialist bee. Great source of pollen and nectar for many bees and butterflies.
Birds love the seeds all winter. Watch for goldfinch, chickadee, sparrows and nuthatches.

 

Growing condiitons:

Very versatile and easy to grow plant. Adapts to any soil and dry to moist soil conditions. Sun to part shade. Biennial or annual, behaves like a perennial in favorable conditions because it self seeds readily.
