This plant grows to heights of 30 - 90 cm. The spray of fragrant flowers blooms in late May and June.
Beautiful woodland plant for shady areas with large white flower clusters and bright red fruits. Great groundcover, spreads by rhizomes.
Attracts butterflies, moths and a wide array of small bees.
Berries are eaten by woodland birds like the Veery.

 

Growing conditions:

Requires fresh to moist soil, in partial sun to shade.
